Open Die Forging

We shape metal between flat or simple contoured dies on open die hammers ranging from 750 kg to 1.5 tonne capacity. This process is ideal for large, custom and oversized components, enhancing internal grain structure for superior strength and toughness with flexible deformation paths for almost any size or shape.

Typical Components

  • Large shafts & spindles
  • Discs & blanks
  • Mandrels & cylinders
  • Bars, billets & ingots
  • Turbine shafts, aerospace & motor parts
